And then he reaches forth with all the fine control that the world has
brutalized, backstabbed, and brainwashed out of him. He reaches deep
into the quiet bedrock and the roiling churn of heat and pressure below
that; then he reaches wide, taking hold of the great sliding-puzzle of
earthshell on which the islands sits.

Lastly, he reaches up, for power.

He takes all that , the strata and the magma and the people and the
power, in his imaginary hands. Everything. He holds it. He is not alone.
The earth is with him. and he breaks it.

The world ripples, reverberates in cataclysm. The break is deep and raw
- magma wells up in its wake, fresh and glowing red. The world is good
at healing itself but the wound will fester under the scabs - with heat
and gas and gritty, dark ash. Enough to choke off the sky. Plants
everywhere will die, the animals that depend on them will starve and the
animals that eat those will starve.

After a thousand years, a new world will form; this will be the 5th
cycle - there is no predicting what the new world will look like. It has
been a single, world-spanning continent; it has been a world of islands
- what it will become, not even he who started the process understands
what what the results of his massive blast of hate and love will be.
